Admissions
If you are interested in applying for admission to the WEC Welding Institute, please note these requirements for consideration:
- A valid Drivers License
- Legal documentation for employment
- Dependable transportation to the school and work sites
- Good visual skills
- Good oral and written English communication skills
- Willingness to commitment to 20 weeks of full time intensive training at Rock Hill, South Carolina
- Financially able to handle living expenses for 20 weeks while attending class
Candidates will be expected to:
- Attend class on time everyday
- Pass initial and random periodic drug screening
- Undergo and pass a background check
- Dress appropriately steel toe work boots, long sleeve cotton work shirt, cotton work pants.
Please note: The school has a strict dress code that is conducive with the construction jobsite. We operate as a drug free environment and students will be subject to random testing. This also simulates the jobsite environment. We will ask that all selected students keep in mind we expect prompt attendance and no days missed without very good reason. Our goal is to have our students treat this training opportunity just like a job.
