Why Welding
If you have listened to the national news as of late, you have heard about power losses throughout the country. Utilities have been forced to rely on peaking gas turbine plants that use very expensive natural gas fuel just to keep up with daily demands.
Our world needs new updated base load power as well as new petrochemical refineries to meet the demands of a fast pace economy. Clean air projects are going on all over our country that are scheduled to last for the next ten years, with fossil and nuclear projects in progress and in the planning stages for the very near future.
All of these projects require an enormous number of skilled welders even as the experts are predicting a shortage of 200,000 highly skilled pipe welders and machinists. For while this industrial building boom is heating up, many of those in the current work force are now approaching retirement.
Clearly, this situation is an excellent opportunity for newly trained workers to fulfill the promise of economic growth. And WEC Welding Institute is ready to help you take your place as a leader in this march toward progress.
