WEC Welding Institute

About

The WEC Welding Institute, formerly known as the Construction Institute of America, was originally founded and sponsored by Carolina Energy Solutions to develop and produce a talent pool of expert pipe welders. When WEC Welding and Machining acquired Carolina Energy Solutions in 2007, we immediately recognized that the school would be tremendous asset not only to our company, but to all of the industries we serve.

To make the most of this investment, we doubled the number of welding booths at the Institute’s Rock Hill, SC facility from 50 to 74 and are operating two shifts.

And, we’re now exploring opening new campuses in other markets.

Emphasizing hands-on instruction, WEC Welding Institute’s primary directive is to provide students with real life welding experience in various applications. In fact our students weld every day, all day, to learn the fifty necessary skills for certification. So they—and our industry—can make the most of their education as quickly and effectively as possible.
