Vision
In the innovative tradition of pioneering entrepreneur George Westinghouse, WEC Welding and Machining is committed to serving the interests of its customers, corporate partners, workforce, and the general public. So it is only fitting that WEC Welding and Machining, a subsidiary of the corporation bearing the Westinghouse name, is taking the lead in developing the welders of tomorrow at the WEC Welding Institute.
At WEC Welding Institute, students at all levels of experience can learn the skills—or enhance their current expertise—in a wide range of applications for the nuclear power, petrochemical, and other energy industries.
The school’s mission is an ambitious and even an audacious one: To recruit and educate superior trades people who will become foundation of a more prosperous and productive middle class while using their skills to work on power plants and on the rest of the energy support system of modern life.
After all, the stronger our economy grows, the more prosperous our workers become, the brighter the future will be for our country and the world.
